Charleston: A Perfect Fit for Sara Campbell
Sara Campbell in Charleston: What a perfect fit!
Since we first opened our doors at 195 1/2 King Street in April 2018, we've heard time and time again, "Sara Campbell is so perfect for Charleston!" Our shop is located in the King Street South shopping district alongside charming fashion boutiques, yummy restaurants, and quintessential Charleston antiques and art galleries. On a recent walk around our neighborhood, we stopped by a few of our favorite places to linger to capture the beauty of Charleston while wearing some of our favorite items from the spring collection!

The King Street South Shopping district ends at Broad Street and becomes residential. South of Broad is like taking a step back in time, it's a thrill to explore this beautiful antebellum neighborhood! The district dates back to 1721 and features rare historic homes amongst cobblestone streets. One of the true gems of the South, this neighborhood is a beloved part of downtown Charleston.

Just down the block from our shop is a hidden gem behind iron garden gates: a path leading to the grounds of the Gothic Revival Unitarian Church, dating back to 1787. Camellias are in full bloom, brightening the path through the historic cemetery adjacent to the church.
Charleston's nickname is "The Holy City" due to the religious freedom that was found on the peninsula several hundred years ago. In the early days, the church steeples towering over the skyline were useful landmarks the guided ship captains into Charleston, one of the most important ports on the eastern seaboard. St John's Lutheran Church has a 275 year history and a beautiful example of Charleston's signature iron gates.
